Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre

Acne is usually a result of excessive oil secretions that develop on the surface of the skin, due to fluctuating hormone levels a variety of external physiological factors and, in some cases, a certain level of negligence pertaining to a skincare regime.

The stresses caused by and brought about on us by the pace of modern-day living take their toll on us physically, mentally, and spiritually.

You can reclaim control of your life and reduce your levels of stress vastly by undergoing and enjoying some of the profoundly relaxing and rejuvenating treatments offered here by the IVAC team of Doctors and therapists. Amongst some, the many benefits produced by the treatments include a return to a physical, mental, and spiritual balance.

Here at The Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre our freshly produced salves and balms treat and combat acne using a wide variety of authentic Ayurvedic medicinal herbs, each of which has unique healing properties. Some of these amazing medicinal herbs include Neem, which contains an exceptionally high level of antibacterial properties, Ashwagandha, which is known for its properties when purifying the skin cells, and Sandalwood, which has significant cooling properties when applied to the skin. Each of these natural ingredients can do wonders when applied topically as a facial mask to treat acne-related skin ailments.

Acne, which is also known as acne vulgaris, is a long-term disorder of the skin that occurs in the body when the hair follicles become blocked up and clogged with dead skin cells and with the naturally occurring oil that is produced by the skin. The disease acne is characterized by a number of treatable symptoms, some of which are oily skin, blackheads or whiteheads, or both, pimples and possibly permanent scarring if left untreated or mistreated ( squeezing, picking or scratching). Acne primarily affects areas of the skin that have relatively high numbers of oil glands, such as the upper chest area, the face and the back.

Anxiety, a reduction in self-esteem, depression and even suicidal thoughts (in extreme cases) have all been linked to the resulting appearance of acne on one’s body. It has been estimated that genetics is the primary cause for some 80% of the cases of acne. The role of diet and smoking is still unclear, and neither the exposure to sunlight or a cleanliness regime appear to play any significant role.
