Kansa Vatki - Ayurvedic Treatment
Kansa Vatki is a deeply relaxing Ayurvedic foot massage that differs from other Ayurvedic feet treatments due to its use of small metal bowls. This centuries-old treatment begins the same way as always, by bathing the feet and legs to clean and relax them.
This then flows into some gentle manipulation movements focused around the feet and legs.
Then, carefully and deliberately the toes, feet, ankles and calves are encouraged to relax through the application of massage techniques carried out with various medicated oils, best suited to your Dosha.
This specialist treatment makes use of three small bowls, that are made up of Copper, Zinc and Tin, each one with a healing property. Copper is known to help with pain management and inflammation, zinc is known to positively affect the immune system and tin is believed to help combat headaches and relieve insomnia. A Marma point focused massage is then performed to work on specific Marma points.
There are 107 main Marma points around the body, 14 of which can be found on the lower legs and feet. Stimulating these points can help to relieve certain conditions around the body and free the energy flow.
The benefits of Kansa Vatki are numerous, and they include relaxation, increased circulation, improvement of muscle tone, increased joint mobility. A reduction in stress levels and an overall boost in the body’s immune system. Kansa Vatki is also known to help alleviate insomnia, headaches and often leads to an increase in appetite.
