Friendship is a term used to denote co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more beings. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem and affection and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar & will share enjoyable activities. VAIDYA TALK |
Acne Vulgaris:
Acne vulgaris is a follicular inflammatory disease of the skin with formation of papules or pustules eruption commonly known a pimple. It is a chronic inflammatory disease of the pilo-sebaceous units, which is characterized by the formation of Comedones, Erithematous papules and pustules. Acne is most common during adolescence affecting more than 85% of teenagers, and frequently continues into adulthood and diminishes over time and tends to disappear. The individuals with acne indisputably excrete more sebum than normal subjects and the level of secretion correlates with Acne. Acne also results from high overall androgen production and increased availability of free androgen because of deficiency in sex hormones binding globulin. At times acnes are related to lipid composition and often show Hypercornification.
An Ayurvedic Approach for Acne / Pimples:

In Ayurveda, Acne/Pimples are termed as Youvana Pidaka or Mukha dooshika. The aggravated Pitta located in Twacha (Skin) and raktha (Blood) causes red swelling called Pidaka. According to Ayurveda, acne are the papules resembling the sprout on the bark of 'Shalmali ' tree and appears over the face of adolescents. Increased 'kapha and vata doshas and 'raktha and meda dhatu ' are involved in causing this disease.
According to Ayurveda most important contributory factors in this condition is diet. Improper dietary habits may lead to acne or youvanapidika.
Ayurveda believes that youvana pidaka is also caused by improper diet. Those, which aggravate pitta, also aggravate raktha causing Youvana Pidaka. Vamana and Virechana panchakarma can help in youvana pidaka. If no improvement is seen in Vamana, Nasya and Siravyadha are to be performed. Lepa prepared out of drugs like vacha, lodra, sindhava and sarshapa or dhanyaka are highy useful..
Management of Acne at IVAC:
At IVAC an entire skin care management system finds its source. The management of Acne is not only in treating the blemishes but also in preventing the future outbreaks to have a healthy and good looking skin. This is done through detoxification procedures like Vamana, Virechana and Nasya. Various combinations of herbs such as lodra, nimba, vacha, dhanyaka, chandana, kumari, haridra and manjista etc., are used in various forms like lepa, taila etc. These are used in our special Anti-Acne facials. Apart from this holistic approach with Yoga including pranayamas, life style management with appropriate diet for each individual are also advised.
