National Flag Hoisting Ceremony at IVAC on Independence Day

"It will be necessary for us Indians Muslims, Christians Jews, Parsis, and all others to whom India is their home-to recognize a common flag to live and to die for."
--Mahatma Gandhi.

On the occasion of the 61st Independence Day of India on Friday, the 15th August 2008, flag hoisting ceremony had held at the premises of the IVAC. Dr. Talavane Krishna, President & Managing Director of IVAC hoisted the flag and paid his homage to the freedom fighters and addresses the IVAC Staff on the occasion. All Staffs and Guests of IVAC were brimming with enthusiasm on that day.

Pavamana Homa

Pavamana Homa was conducted at IVAC on 2nd August 2008. Pavamana is the name of wind God Sri Vayu Bhagavan (Hanuman).

The homa was organized for the benefit of removal of all bad elements (including bad elements pertaining to home). Pavamana suktha is an nector to alleviate the bad elements. IVAC’s Founder President Dr. Talavane Krishna invokes the relevant Devta (Angel God) in order to fulfill the desires and for the wellness of each offered ghee, cereals, pulses, samith (twig cuttings of different plants), paramaanna and such other homa dravyas (Holy substances) in the homa kunda – sacred fire. During the sacrifice prayer we were worshipping God physically, orally and mentally viz. we physically offer holy substances, chanting the mantra orally and at this time, we mentally meditate. "Trikarana Sudhi" (purity of body, mind and heart) can be easily achieved through this homa so worshipping God through homa/yajna is considered as a most effective method of our veda. Performing the Pavamana homa is a 100% cure and Medicine for all bad elements and brings back the happiness through healthy and wealthy life.

“Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavantu”

(An ancient Indian text)
Which could be explained as...
All the people, all over the universe be,
always happy, healthy & contented!

Laughter, humor, a lighthearted sense of being - all of these are an important part of a well-balanced life. Without humor, there is no hope. Without laughter there is no love and with a heavy heart, we live only a life of sadness and despair. Our ability to laugh at our foibles and laugh with our friends is a key indicator for predicting how readily we'll bounce back from difficulties and how well we'll handle the curveballs that life throws our way, and a quick smile is always the best defense in a situation that's hit a sour note. The benefits of being a happy person are huge. We live longer, live healthier, and live more lively life. Unfortunately, all but the most highly-evolved among us have less than happy moments. Fortunately, we can do simple things to recapture a happy mood if we find ourselves lacking one.

Many people live in clutter, emotionally eat themselves into overweight, live in debt, hate their jobs and otherwise live unhappy lives, unable and seemingly unwilling to change. Why? What do these have in common? What is the core issue?

Fear, or rather an absence of love - Seek self-fulfillment as an individual. Place emphasis on being truly alive and experiencing the things that bring you true pleasure. Do not let the feelings of peace and wonder slip from your life as you wait to share (beautiful sunsets) and other gifts of life with a future partner.

Do not place your focus on "getting there." Instead, learn to experience the journey of life. If you can only see the goal of a relationship - marriage, home, children, etc., you will not enjoy the experiences along life's way.

VAIDYA TALK

Anemia:

Anemia is defined as a qualitative or quantitative deficiency of hemoglobin, a molecule found inside red blood cells (RBCs). Since all human cells depend on oxygen for survival and hemoglobin normally carries oxygen from the lungs to the tissues, anemia leads to hypoxia (lack of oxygen) in organs. The three main classes of anemia include

  • Excessive blood loss (hemorrhage or chronically through low-volume loss),
  • Excessive blood cell destruction (hemolysis) ]
  • Deficient red blood cell production (ineffective hematopoiesis).

Most commonly, people with anemia report a feeling of weakness or fatigue in general or during exercise, general malaise and sometimes poor concentration. People with more severity report with dyspnea (shortness of breath) on exertion and very severe anemia prompt the body to compensate by increasing cardiac output, leading to palpitation and sweatiness, and to heart failure.

Pallor (pale skin, mucosal linings and nail beds) is often a useful diagnostic sign in moderate or severe anemia and other useful signs are cheilosis and koilonychia.

Anemia in Ayurveda

Anemia is called as Pandu roga in Ayurveda caused by two types of Pitta (Heat Energy), Paachaka Pitta & Ranjaka pitta. Paachaka pitta is responsible for the proper assimilation of the digested food & Ranjaka pitta is responsible for color to the blood. If this does not happen, then the minerals in the foods – especially iron – do not pass out into the blood properly resulting in deterioration the quality of the blood.

Diet and Lifestyle activities normally leads to anemic condition through various factors like intake of hot, sour and salty food, alcoholic beverages, traumatic injury, pregnancy, menstrual disorder and other bleeding conditions, febrile diseases, liver disorders, kidney disorder, excess sexual indulgence.

Pandu roga is diagnosed by several conditions like pale or lifelessness, low energy, low grade fever or burning sensation, irregular elimination or yellowish and scanty urine, indigestion, vertigo, fainting, fatigue, and women may notice a pale or scanty menstrual flow or no flow at all, etc.,

Organic milk from free range cows, boiled with black sesame seeds, pomegranate or black grape juice, molasses, sucanat (whole cane sugar) are all good food for anemia as indicated in Ayurveda along with herbs like Aloe vera, Triphala, Saffron, Shatavari, Manjishtha and Punarnava.
